Become Mindful of the Gap!

The science behind the mindfulness process.

Mindfulness or meditation is a practise whereby it helps you reconnect with the essence of your whole being. This essence is a stable infinite frequency that is described by experienced meditators as love. As this practise becomes a daily habit you will look forward to, you become much more conscious of an embrace of love filled joy, ‘dawning’ from within. Such state of being provides a less stress and anxiety free conscious operating system as you continue in your sojourn through life.

Science and specifically quantum science coupled with metaphysics and authentic ancient wisdom, are coming together to forge a new understanding of the ground of humanities being, that of infinite consciousness. Or infinite divine consciousness, as some who study this science describe it. Each of us are consciousness agents. The portion of infinite divine consciousness that coalesces in and around a human body form, identifies with it and becomes its individual operating system. We are avatars of the divine mind. The mind of God as some scientists express this phenomenom.

However due to circumstances beyond our control, which I explore more fully in my book, as conscious agents we became so totally focused on the information pouring in through the portals of our five senses, that we became absorbed with managing the content of our experience, enabling the body to survive, that we each became ‘un-conscious,’ or lose any sense of the infinite extent of our divine harmonious consciousness, in whom we live and move and have our being.

The Human Plight

In the light of this situation, this temporary and limited form of consciousness which we call self-consciousness or the ego, took upon itself to seek love and belonging, value and worth from the content of its experience, thus going beyond its brief. The consequences have been catastrophic. The creative part of our divine image has developed and performed amazingly, with regard to what has been accomplished using the earths raw materials, and in this sphere of operation we find a measure of fulfilment and joy. However, such fulfilment is short lived by the undermining of our social and relational interactions. We have completely failed to find any substantial sense of love and belonging from the pursuit of material possessions, wealth, positions of power and prestige, religious practice or institutional reliance. Marriage and other love related domestic relationships often prove contentious, fragile and temporary as well. We have completely failed in this department. We are at war with one another. We believe ourselves failures. We suffer from unwarranted guilt and shame. We blame others for our plight. The death we fear is the fear the ego has of dying before it discovers love and belonging on its terms. The symptoms are anxiety, stress and all kinds of fears. Through a mindfulness process we bring the ego back into harmony with our whole being, namely the divine consciousness in whom we live and move and have our being.

 ABOUT THE BOOK.

Cutting edge science coupled with authentic wisdom comes together to produce a recipe of cogent argument and practical insight as to why you suffer. Our minds are out of kilter with our biology. Your body is a collection of over 70 trillion individual cells and programmed to work in self-less harmony. The sensation of this internal harmony we would describe as love. However, as humans we have lost sight of the essence of our being, and fight with other humans demanding love and belonging from one another, and other elements from the content of our experience, rather than working in harmony with our essential biology which unites  species.

An Enlightened Mind

A synopsis of the our consciousness Being.

Enlightenment is a home coming not an achievement. Enlightenment is coming home to your original state of being. The term enlightenment refers to the transformation of the mind that takes place in those who seriously begin the renew their thinking through meditation or mindfulness.

You began fulfilled in light.

Many scientists and those engaged in the process of studying the phenomenom of consciousness, give concession to the use of the term God which sums up in short hand the divine, infinite universal harmonious concept of consciousness which is the ground of all being. A light frequency way beyond anything we sense, a shining plethora of waves of energy working in harmony. Like a infinite ocean out of which waves temporarily form and dissolve, humans are temporary forms of a portion of such infinite consciousness. This concession when handled appropriately and relieved of all religious conatations and understood as authentic ancient wisdom claims, your original state of being is God’s being. God as simply  ‘existing’ - I AM, infinite fulfilling light. Therefore the ground of your being is ‘I am,’ simply existing in peace and joy without any need for qualification.

Imagine your Self as walled area filled with light, no darkness at all. However, from the reference point of that walled area which is in darkness, you would consider it empty, because you cannot see if there are any objects or people. When this walled area is then filled with light, you would not say that area is empty you would say it is filled with light, even though there are no objects or people in the walled area. This is the state of your original being.- filled with the light of life. All you could say of yourself is I AM. I exist. I AM aware of being aware, why? because there are no objects or people in the area. This walled area or garden is called Eden which means complete pleasure. All that grows in this garden is happiness, love, joy, peace and rest. Their scent is the ecstasy that fills the space - your whole being.

Your body is an accumulation of cells. As you grow you gain more cells. Your mind is an accumulation of thoughts about the things you experience, accumulating memories, pleasant or traumatic and thoughts about the future.

The garden of light vs a layer of concrete!

Your conscious mind develops as a toddler is that of  ‘just being aware of being aware,’ which I refer to as being in a garden, having no objective or subjective thoughts about objects, things, substances or people. Gradually your mind learns about relationships, positions of power and possessions, and creating all sorts of objects. Eventually your conscious mind becomes so identified with the content of your experience - the information flowing in through the portals of your five senses, and trying to manage that content, you lose awareness of the light that fulfilled your garden and the scent of happiness and love. Your self-conscious mind goes rogue and begins to seek fulfilment from the objects, substances, positions of power and relationships that crowds the garden out. The light that fulls the garden gradually reseeds, becomes veiled and the garden becomes a dark and a abandoned place.

Material possessions, substances, positions of power and prestige reveal their true nature as dark, because these material things were never filled with the light that fulfils, apart from other people, but in them too, the light too is seriously compromised. As the light of life ebbs away the fear of death, the loss of a fulfilling life, complete darkness creeps up in you. To distract yourself from such fear, you become more frantic in managing the content of your experience. Anxiety and stress increases. All you have accumulated and accomplished means nothing. In this state of being you end up just going in circles, the drudgery of surviving. The bliss of love, acceptance peace and joy have been covered over, it seems, in an impregnable layer of concrete.

Coming home.

The elixir you and I seek is simply to return to our original state of being, to go home. To allow the fulfilling light to arise again within you. You can do this by taking your focus off your thoughts and accompanying desire which demands value, love and belonging from the content of your experience. Decide to take a moment and do nothing, do nothing with your body, do nothing with your mind. By using a meditation or mindful discipline, take a moment and engage the ‘gap between your thoughts.’ The veil of concrete will begin to fall away and the light that still fulfils the garden will become evident again. Your focus will shift and the things in the garden will be lit and come into the right perspective. The darkness will begin to crack ad dissolve away, together with anxiety, fear and stress. It is the learning to be still and just know I AM, to just be aware of being aware, to do nothing, be nothing, have nothing, think nothing apart from ‘I am,’ that initially can be difficult. But once you decide to commit and surrender your thoughts, feelings and emotions, having faith in eternal living light to help you, it will not take long for your mind to become fully enlightened and the bliss of love and joy to return.
